What are your opening hours?
Monday: 8am-3pm
Tuesday: 8am-5pm (enquire about this late finish)
Wednesday: 8:30am-1pm (‘Rising Stars’ primarily for those aged 3 on the 1st September, but for 2025/2026 we are taking younger children into the session alongside our Rising Stars children)
Thursday: 8am-5pm (enquire about this late finish)
Friday: 9am-3pm
What are your fees?
We accept government funded 15 and 30 hours, which can be used flexibly. There is a voluntary donation of 50p per hour to support our craft, baking, science and snack costs.
If not using the funded hours our fees are £5.50 per hour for 3-4 year olds and £6 per hour for 2-3 year olds.
Do you offer a holiday club?
We are open 48 weeks of the year and offer a holiday club on Mondays & Tuesdays 9am-3pm (see term dates for details). Government funded hours can be ‘stretched’ across 48 weeks rather than the standard 38 weeks or paid using our regular hourly rate.
We welcome children from the preschool and elsewhere to join us for holiday club, such as those aged between 2-4 years that attend local school or nursery settings.
Please note that there is no holiday club in the May half-term and we usually close for the first week of June following the May half term due to a funding shortfall.
Who are the staff and your Committee?
Most of our staff have Level 3 sector based qualifications and our Manager has a sector related degree, with one other staff member holding QTS. Staff hold current up to date qualifications in Paediatric First aid and Food Hygiene. The setting has a named SENCO (Special Education Needs Co-ordinator) who will liase closely with parents of any child with a specific need or will support and instigate strategies to help such children develop and learn. The setting also has Lead Practitioners for Safeguarding Children and Behaviour Management.
As a registered charity the Pre-School is overseen by a committee of annually elected parents at our AGM, without which the Pre-School would have have to close. Working closely with staff, the committee are involved in areas such as the purchase of new equipment, parent communication and fund-raising activities. Being involved is an excellent way to contribute to the decisions that affect your child’s time at the Pre-School. We are always delighted to receive any offers of help!
